It's simple: All players are first teamed up in pairs. Each party is asked to give a funny comment about his/her buddy's profile photo. Then, all photos and the corresponding comments are published and all players can choose their favorite one. Make sure to consider the photo as well as the comment when voting! Whoever receives the most votes, gets to the next round.

All PhotoContest rounds are played following the knock-out principle. After each round, only one of each pair of players gets to the next round. In the final round, the players can additionally comment on the comment of their respective opponents. The winner of the final round of PhotoContest qualifies for the hourly grand finals!.

The hourly grand finals take place in channel PhotoContest Finals. Only those who have won a game of PhotoContest in the previous hour can participate. In these finals, all rounds are played with comments as well as statements. Other than that, the usual rules of PhotoContest, including the knock-out procedure stay in place.

The finals take place in large chat rooms that hold up to 250 spectators. Tol avoid chaos, only the active finalists are allowed to talk. However, each of the spectors initially gets a fixed budget of intersections, which can be issued using the command /intersection in form of a short public message. Use this to cheer for your favorite player!

Depending on the number of qualifying finalists, there may be multiple channels for the hourly finals. As soon as the individual channels have yielded their winners, all spectors vote on the overall winner. Thus, a single player will be the overall winner at the end.

In typical PhotoContest games, you receive 10 points for each successful round. In the grand finals, you receive 1 point per vote -- which can sum up to a lot! There are the following ranks:
